Museum Offers Two Hard-To-Find Books

The Museum is now able to take orders for two books online at their website.  The books, Shingle Shavers and Berry Pickers, by Oliver Raymond and This is from Walter, annotated by Susan E Clarkson, are books that are published by The Historical Society.

Mr. Raymond's book details the history of Port Sanilac from the days when Uri Raymond came to town and started his hardware store in 1850.

This is from Walter is a transcription of letters sent home by Walter Niles, a 20 year old Michigan man who fought with the 24th Michigan Iron Brigade during the Civil War.  Mr. Niles fought at Antietam, Fredricksburg, Port Royal, Chancellorsville and Gettysburg.
