Gerald Nyquist to Speak at Museum's Town Hall Series

On Sunday, November 15th, Mr. Gerald Nyquist will make a presentation titled,

 "The Matthews Family: Rebels and Farmers of Sanilac County"

Mr. Nyquist has been an engineer at both Ford Motor Company and General Motors.  He says he didn't retire, he escaped.  He is also the author of 32 scientific publications and 25 history related articles.

Mr. Nyquist presently lives in Macomb County where his is a life member of the New Baltimore Historical Society.  He is also a life member and past president of our Sanilac County Historical Society.

We hope you will join us in The Museum Church on Sunday at 3:00 PM.  Refreshments will be available.

Visit our Museum at Port Sanilac Marina's Open House

The museum will be having an information table at the Port Sanilac Marina on April 18th during the marina's Spring Open House.  Stop by and discover what is planned for the museum this season, information on our tours, and volunteer opportunities.  The open house runs from 10 AM until 5 PM.

Jeff Pollock to Present at SC4


On Saturday, March 28th, St. Clair County Community College will be hosting their 13th annual Free College Day.  This year classes will include a presentation on our Museum by administrator, Jeff Pollock.

Although classes are free, pre-registration is required,

Jeff's presentation will be held twice during this event, once at 10:15 AM and again at 12:45 PM.

Alan Naldrett Rescheduled to Speak on September 20th

Note, In February Mr. Naldrett's event was cancelled due to poor weather. We are re-scheduling him to speak on September 20th.  Please watch for further announcements as the date draws closer.


Sunday, September 20th at 3PM in The Museum Church Alan Naldrett will be telling us about ghost towns of the Thumb.

Mr. Naldrett is a Michigan historian, with a Master’s Degree in Archival Science and a Masters of Library and Information Science from Wayne State University. He is also the author of the Arcadia books, Images of America: Chesterfield Township, Michigan, and the History Press book Press Forgotten Tales of Michigan’s Lower Peninsula, and co-author of Images of America: New Baltimoreand Images of America: Fraser.  Lost Towns of Eastern Michigan will be published with the History Press in 2015.


Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for children.  Refreshments will be available.

El domingo 19 de abril, el ex representante estatal Juan Espinoza harás una presentación sobre los hispanos en el pulgar. El evento tendrá lugar en la Iglesia del Museo a las 3:00 PM. La entrada cuesta $ 10 para adultos y $ 5 para estudiantes. Refrescos estarán disponibles. Juan también tiene un libro disponible en este evento.

John Espinoza Speaks About "Hispanics in the Thumb" April 19th

On Sunday, April 19th former state representative John Espinoza will deliver a presentation on Hispanics in the Thumb.  The event will be held at The Museum Church at 3:00 PM.  Admission is $10 for adults and $5 for students. Refreshments will be available. John will also have a book,  “America’s Son, the Odyssey of John Espinoza." available at this event.

Ourselves At The Museum Church

On Sunday, March 15th, Ourselves will be clebrating St. Patrick's Day with us again at The Museum Church.  Festivities begin at 3:00 PM. Light lunch and refreshments will be provided.  Admission including lunch is $20 for adults and $10 for children.  Come and sing along!
